Here are the comic strips that ran in the newspapers in May! I am also including a bonus comic strip ONLY for my online readers!!!

First, I continue with Charmy as his legendary explorer Captain Whackipuss. This reoccurring character has become one of my personal favorites. Modeled after Groucho Marx’s Captain Spalding, Charmy has millions of tall tails about his many jungle safaris in the jungles of the Amazon.

I added an ant version of Margaret Dumont, Groucho’s straight woman who appeared in most of the films of the Marx Brothers. I believe I captured her unique personality perfectly in the second panel! Margaret was such a key element in the Marx Brother’s movies. This new character will be seen from time to time in my strip. I think we will call her Margie Shewtonberger. That name just popped into my head, so that is now official. You just cannot overthink genius.

The next three strips tie in together. Candy has some new competition in town for her coffee shop, The Candy Bar. Bubba’s Boba has opened across town and Frenchy has fallen in love with its main offering… no spoilers… 🙂

The bonus strip for May features a returning character! Back by popular demand is Charmy’s Zombie Girlfriend, Sheesow Rotten. The comic strip also features Gator, Bees, and Gravy, the trash flies. I literally pay them in garbage… under the table too. Serioisly, I place a pile of garbage under a table for them so the nasty stuff is out of sight.
