I wanted to draw Zero for INKtober, but felt it would be too easy and look too simplistic. He is a sheet and a big nose. How hard is that to draw? With that in mind, I upped the ante. I added Zero’s mausoleum. The result was the most impressive sketch card I have ever inked!

Remember, these are 3.5 by 2.5 inch sketch cards. They are so tiny!!! To achieve this level of detail is tough. I use an extremely fine point pen. The line work is pretty slick. It is loose in some areas and very tight and buttoned up in other areas. The balance works great. What I love most about today’s INKtober installment is the composition of the layout. The drawing is perfectly balanced and flows smoothly throughout the canvas.

Watch for Jack and Sally this weekend! The next two cards will finish up the Nightmare Before Christmas series. Beginning Monday, I will jump back onto the requests I have received.
