INKtober Day 27 – Weaver as Beavis

Today will be the first long day at Alamo City Comic Con! I am praying for a good show. This will be the last big show I do this year. I do not plan on doing any BIG shows next year unless Alamo City Comic Con ends up being as profitable as Comicpalooza was for me. If Alamo City is a break even show or worse, I may not come back next year. I plan on focusing on my publishing efforts next year and only do a few shows where I know I can make some money.

Today, I am mashing up Weaver with Beavis from Mike Judge’s Beavis and Butthead. I remember when this show came out, I was in awe. My friends would all gather together at my brother’s apartment and we would laugh uncontrollably. Why? Did we just find the humor so different and so brilliant?

Well, yes… but as much as I hate to admit it, we saw ourselves in these characters. No, we weren’t dumbasses, lol… but we all wore concert shirts and loved doing stupid things… just not to the degree Beavis and Butthead went to. The show was a fun escape from reality as we were all leaving our childhood and were all suddenly growing up and getting real jobs. We were all starting families soon and our youthful innocence was riding off into the sunset.

I hate to say it, but Beavis and Butthead was a show we all related to.
