INKtober Day 21 – Turtle as Pugsley

You rarely see Turtle from my comic strip without his thick pair of glasses resting on his face.  Here is Turtle without his trademark speckles mashed up with Pugsley Addams for today’s installment of INKtober. Again, I used the original cast as my reference.  Ken Weatherwax played the original Pugsley with an innocence that was crucially missing from all the child actors to follow in this role. I loved the fact that Ken’s portrayal appeared natural. The other actors always had a look that made you think the kid was evil and up to no good. With Ken, you did not get that and the mystique added to the perfection of the Pugsley character.

While researching, I was saddened to discover Ken passed away from a heart attach four years ago. Before the discovery, I was thinking about how he would be an amazing celebrity guest at comic cons. He would only be 63 years old today and I am sure he would have  been a hit at these shows.

One cool note about Pugsley, in the 1970’s animated series, Jodie Foster was the voice of Pugsley Addams. Crazy, right?

Ten more days left in INKtober. This is going by so quickly!!!!
