INKtober Day 19 – Lunch Lady as Grandmama

Today. I have expanded the Addams Family mashups for two reasons. Reason one, everyone is going crazy over the Gomez and Morticia mashups. Reason two, I can get a full set of nine print cards and make money.

Money is always a good reason to work.

Here are a few notes about Grandmama. The Addams Family began as a comic strip where Grandmama was known as Grandma Frump. This means she was Morticia’s mom. The television show wanted the entire family core to be from the Addams’ lineage so the producers changed her name to Eudora Addams, making her Gomez’s mother. In the cartoon series and “Hollywood” movies, Grandmama was referenced back to being from Morticia’s lineage. There are no references to Grandmama’s family tree in the New Addams Family television series. I tried watching it a few times but never made it through an episode. I am too passionate about the original television series.

The producers also renamed the character in the television series from Grandma Frump to Grandmama because they felt Grandma sounded too close to Granny. The Beverly Hillbillies was very popular before the Debut of The Addams Family so the producers changed the name to Grandmama.
