INKtober Day 8 – Flimp the Chimp as Morty Smith

I would love to do a guest spot in the Rick and Morty comic book, writing and drawing a crossover of my comic strip with Justin Roiland’s and Dan Harmon’s amazing creation. Their amazing show on Cartoon Network inspires the heck out of me to do something crazy with Charmy’s Army. The problem is that I just have not made the right connections yet.

As scary as these words coming out of my mouth are, they are the facts… “I need an agent”. I cannot afford one yet. The plan I had in doing these comic cons was to build a massive following and start making money selling comic books and art. I made the massive following. That was easy because I have an amazing comic strip. Making money at comic cons is an impossible task when you are pushing your own property. It doesn’t help either that the last three shows I appeared at were total bombs with no traffic in Artist’s Alley.

Who would be the best choice for an agent? That is easy, a syndicate is the ultimate choice. Back in the day, King Features was into movies, cartoon shows and comic books. I believe the syndicates have lost sight of how far a good comic strip can travel. Charmy’s Army is ready to become the next huge animated series…. the next huge comic book series…. the next box office hit. I have my submission into King Features right now. Who knows, in a few months I may be on my way to greatness.

Meanwhile, I am focusing on Alamo City Comic Con. This show will be the real deal. Like Comicpalooza, I am going to crush it in Artist’s Alley. My buddy, well, I consider him that but he may laugh and disagree, Guy Gilchrist will be there. I cannot wait to see Guy again. The talent pool at the show is insane. Competition will be hot and I am so looking forward to it.
