TODAY’S STRIP
I am a huge pro wrestling fan. HUGE. I am also a huge fan of Ronda Rousey. I was a fan before she landed in WWE, but now that she is on Monday Night RAW, I am a super fan. I really hope the writers at WWE come up with a good storyline where we can explore her “character” on the show. Back when Beth Phoenix was in the WWE, I saw the enormous potential the organization had with Beth… and I was floored at the fact that WWE had no idea what to do with her.
That all said, I need a legal statement. No one in the above comic strips is a representation of any person, living or dead. Okay, no I can continue. In today’s comic strip, I drew inspiration for Sally Barton after watching an episode of Monday Night Raw. Sally’s look and attitude were both inspired by Ronda Rousey. Similarities stop there. I don’t want Ronda coming after me like Sally came after Charmy.
ALAMO CITY COMIC CON NEWS!
I have received my vendor packet for artist’s alley at Alamo City Comic Con, which means… I know my table number! My table number, where I will be displaying my art and selling merchandise promoting my comic strip, is A426. I am now ramping up my Facebook event page. To check out my event page and grab original art and merchandise before they sell out, follow my page HERE. I will be posting art everyday, leading up to the show. Leave a comment on my comic strip’s event page’s post for art or merchandise you would like to pick up at the show to guarantee you walk away with a chunk of history. I am bound and determined to become syndicated with my comic strip sometime next year. Things are going way to well for a syndicate to pass on my comic strip, Charmy’s Army… and if they do pass, I have made some big connections who will be instrumental in making “Option B” a smashing success.
NOT GOING TO ALAMO CITY COMIC COM? Well, please help me by SHARING my event page on Facebook.
Alamo City will be my last HUGE show for at least a year. I will have to pass on Comicpalooza due to a family commitment. Comicpalooza is the only other huge show I do every year. It is also the only profitable show I do. I had too many shows where I lost money this year but Comicpalooza made up for all of them. Without Comicpalooza next year, I will have to cut my appearances back. Currently, I only have 4 shows planned… three of which are booked already.
So, Alamo City will be a huge show for me. If I can do as good as I do at Comicpalooza, I may add more shows in 2019. Right now, four shows is all I will do unless a promoter throws a free table at me. Help me out at Alamo City Comic Con by sharing my event page. Even if the show is not profitable again this year, I am going to have fun. I love San Antonio and cannot wait to chill with a drink or two on the Riverwalk with my wife. San Antonio is one of the greatest cities in Texas and I cannot wait to do the old “tourist” scene… maybe do a ghost tour. If you have any suggestions for things to do, especially in walking distance of the Riverwalk’s main area, I would love to hear your ideas!
