This may be one of my last appearances in Charmy’s Army. I appear as myself from time to time and I have done so in my comic strips since I was a kid. I was a kid long before Stephan Pastis ever thought about being a cartoonist. Stephan is the genius behind Pearls Before Swine and he also appears in his comic strip from time to time. I am making a huge attempt to distance my comic strip from anything you’ve ever read. So, because of this objective, I am going to remove myself from my comic strip in 2018.

As this strip states, “we need a bigger couch”. We either need a bigger couch, or we need less characters sitting on their butts. I feel my character is just sitting on his butt in my comic strip Charmy’s Army. In other words, my character is just not necessary. All of my other characters are vital to the life of my comic strip.

CHARMY, WEAVER, FRENCHY and FLIMP – These are my top 4 characters. Every comic strip thrives when utilizing 4 main characters. The balance gives a comic strip numerous directions for stories. The variety is the spice of any recipe for a good comic strip. I am Blessed that God gave me the creativeness to come up with four extremely original and insanely popular characters to star in my comic strip.

CHARMY – The namesake of my comic strip belongs to one Charmen Aloysius Packy. I bet no one knew Charmy’s middle name! This is the first time I ever revealed that. Charmy is a lively soul, full of life and hungry for adventure. I feel I have the strongest leading character of any comic strip running in newspapers today. I just need a syndicate like GoComics or King Features to believe in me as much as my readers do.

WEAVER – My glue that holds this broken clay pot together. Every comic strip needs a voice of reason. Weaver is the character in my comic strip who keeps all others from landing their keisters in jail or from getting seriously injured… well most of the time. Weaver longs to be a part of the gang so he reluctantly finds himself up to his neck in trouble most of the time.

FRENCHY – Oh boy, did I ever create the greatest comic strip character in the history of comic strips! Is there ANYONE who does not love Frenchy? What a smart, feisty and imaginative creation! She can have her “blonde moments” from time to time, but deep down, she is the smartest, and strongest, character in my comic strip. Plus her Warrior Wench Wendy secret identity is just the most intense twist in comic strip history.

FLIMP THE CHIMP – Yes, my comic strip has a monkey in it. I wanted to do something that made no sense at all so I threw in a monkey who talks like a monkey. Only Frenchy understand what Flimp says. Flimp is a wildly insane addition who screams gibberish when he talks. His actions are usually dangerously life threatening actions that just adds to the exciting rollercoaster ride known as Charmy’s Army the comic strip.

HAPPY NEW YEAR

I hope you all had an amazing year. My web stats were 12 times higher that 2016!!! This proves my comic strip is going to be syndicates everywhere across the United States soon. I just have to keep working super hard. 2018 will be the year I finally break out with my comic strip. Hopefully, that does not mean I am going to catch a rash….
