2018 IS UPON US!

I am working on my goals for the new year. As I mentioned last week, my 2017 goals did not pan out… They were aggressive goals. The crazy thing is, I am very happy with my accomplishments this year. Sure I lost a ton of money. Sure I am still not making a living following my passion for cartooning. Looking at the palm of my other hand, I see that my readership grew beyond belief. I also see two new newspapers carrying the world’s funniest comic strip, Charmy’s Army.

Next year’s goals will be even more insane. As it stands, I have 9 appearances booked… and I just had three more shows ask if I am available for appearances here in Houston, Tyler and Longview. I am waiting on their dates to become official so I can see if I am already booked elsewhere. I may have to turn them down just so I can attack my most aggressive goal…. the creation of a comic book series.

Yep, next year will be busy. I just hope I find a bit more success with my shows. Ramping up may mean bigger losses… or could mean more opportunities for success. My hope is that my returns to cities I visited last year will showcase a new found following of readers ready to support me. Once 2018 is over, I will have a good handle on whether or not my plan is working. If I end up in the same sunken ship though next year in December, my 2019 schedule may shrink to just a few shows. On the other hand, if I pull off a profit, I will expand my appearances in 2019 to a city or two outside of Texas!!!!
