Charmy’s Army – December 4, 2017

12DEC2017_CHARMY - WEEK 49 - 1203-1209 - COLOR - STACKED

WHAT A GREAT SHOW IN AUSTIN!

I had an amazing Saturday talking with all the kids and parents at Round Rock High School. I had made a ton of extra buttons and added some cheap print cards so the kids had merchandise to afford. That was a GREAT move on my part. I knew I would never sell any big dollar items at a comic con at a high school, but low and behold… I did sell a sketch cover and a few original sketch cards.

I parted ways with my “Charmy as Khan” sketch cover. I also sold my Turtle as a Zombie and my “Ant version of Bane” sketch cards. They all went to great homes.

All in all, it was another break even show, which is all I ever want at this stage and especially for this type of “comic con”. This was my first show at a High School. I have another show appearance scheduled for February in Pearland, Texas. These shows are not geared for me to make money. These shows are designed to inspire a younger generation to read and to draw. I have ample opportunities ahead to make money. Believe me, this show was just as rewarding for me as Comicpalooza or Alamo City.

On top of all that, I was tabled next to Richard Brooks who is the mastermind for the comic book Mr. Morris. I have appeared at many shows with Rick, yet I am always what seems like MILES away from him at every show. To be right next to this amazing creator was awe inspiring. I felt like I was seated next to a rock star. If you get a chance to check out his work, do so! http://mrmorriscomic.com/

If I get invited back next year, I will be back in a heartbeat!
