Here we are! The last four days of INKtober. I guess you can see where I am going with
the grand finale, right? Well, it’ll be more clear tomorrow. I am not just doing another series of KISS drawings… You will have to wait until tomorrow… 🙂
I am writing these next two blogs on the 25th and setting them to post automatically later in the week. I will be in Tyler, Texas all weekend appearing at the East Texas Rose Comic Con. I will not have time to ramble aimlessly through these posts.
If you are in Tyler today… or close to Tyler, come by and see me. I will have the actual art from my comic strips at the show at a special price. I need to make up for a heavy loss this year. I have had good shows… but no GREAT shows. I hear other artists tell me a GOOD show for them is a take of about a grand. A good show for me means I make my table investment back and part of my hotel costs. I would love to pull in a grand but to be honest, I don’t believe anyone makes that kind of money in Artist’s Alley on a consistent basis. If they do, God Bless them, I am so happy for their success!
For me, the comic con appearances are all about exposure. I am paying for new readers and the chance to meet amazing people like Guy Gilchrist. In any line of work, sometimes it is not just WHAT you know, but WHO you know… not that I would ever play that card. I never would, believe me.
