Micheal Keaton had a huge series of amazing movies!!!! Then he kind of fizzled out. I
remember marveling at his performance as Beetlejuice and Johnny Dangerously. Yes, I thought he was brilliant in Johnny Dangerously. Not sure why I love that cheesy movie. Wait, do you read the stuff I write? lolol….
Keaton had a string of good movies prior to his iconic role, in my mind anyway, as Bruce Wayne. I remember when I heard Michael Keaton was portraying Gotham’s millionaire that I became really upset. Finally, my favorite superhero was getting his own movie… and little Michael Keaton would be donning Batman’s cape and cowl. What was Tim Burton thinking?
I was in the theater opening night. I remember it so vividly! I had won tickets from a radio station. I could not wait to see the big screen debut of the Dark Knight and watch Keaton, explode or implode on the massive screen. There I was in line… one of the last people in line… and as I neared the door, I was told the radio station over booked the theater, so I had to watch Star Trek V. Yep, I was upset again… That was THE worst Star Trek movie. Fortunately, the theater gave me a ticket to see Batman the next night.
True story.
4 days left in INKtober! I am going to be out of town doing a show so I may not post anything else until Monday. Sorry. Life of a struggling cartoonist… lol!!!!!
