Well, I am a week late with my post. Last weekend, a Hurricane blew through League City and took out power all over my hometown. The aftermath was quite challenging as we had to rely on generators and limited resources for several days. The community really came together to support one another, sharing food, water, and helping to clear the debris from the streets. Despite the difficulties, it was heartwarming to witness the resilience and solidarity of the people in the face of adversity. The experience also provided valuable lessons in emergency preparedness and the importance of having an action plan in place for such unexpected events.

My home was spared from any major damage. However, the aftermath of the storm left a significant impact on my surroundings. Not only did my neighbor, who lives behind me, have a massive tree uprooted and fall into my yard, but the trees in my front yard also suffered damage, losing four very large branches. The cleanup process has been extensive, requiring me to spend two days cutting trees and dedicating many hours of overtime to my day job. As a result, unfortunately, my comic strip was relegated to the bottom of my list of priorities.

But here we are! I have spent two days working on my newspaper deadlines, meticulously crafting the artwork, and ensuring that every detail is perfect. I have not slept much at all, but my commitment to the newspapers is extremely important to me. Now that I am caught up with all of my obligations which pay my bills, it is time to catch up on my archive for my comic strip, Charmy’s Army. As I sit down to review the earlier editions, I find myself reminiscing about the journey of creating each comic, the characters that have evolved, and the joy of bringing laughter to my readers. It’s a labor of love, and I wouldn’t have it any other way. This upcoming story is one of the funniest series of comic strips I have ever written in the many years I have been creating these silly stories.

In this series of comic strips, Flimp the Chimp is a flesh-eating zombie on a mission to navigate the perils of the Candy Bar while battling his insatiable hunger for human brains. As he struggles through his addiction for flesh and brains, Flimp encounters our cast of characters who have no clue has to handle the situation. The juxtaposition of the dimwitted cast and comical setting with Flimp’s ghoulish transformation provides a unique and darkly humorous twist to the typical adventures at the Candy Bar, making it an intriguing and bizarrely captivating story for readers of all ages.

Bueno, llevo una semana de retraso con mi post. El fin de semana pasado, un huracán azotó League City y dejó sin electricidad toda mi ciudad natal. El período posterior fue bastante desafiante ya que tuvimos que depender de generadores y recursos limitados durante varios días. La comunidad realmente se unió para apoyarse unos a otros, compartiendo comida, agua y ayudando a limpiar los escombros de las calles. A pesar de las dificultades, fue reconfortante presenciar la resiliencia y la solidaridad del pueblo frente a la adversidad. La experiencia también proporcionó valiosas lecciones sobre preparación para emergencias y la importancia de contar con un plan de acción para eventos inesperados.

Mi casa se salvó de daños importantes. Sin embargo, las secuelas de la tormenta dejaron un impacto significativo en mi entorno. A mi vecino, que vive detrás de mí, no solo le arrancaron un árbol enorme y cayó en mi jardín, sino que los árboles en mi jardín delantero también sufrieron daños, perdiendo cuatro ramas muy grandes. El proceso de limpieza ha sido extenso y me ha requerido pasar dos días cortando árboles y dedicando muchas horas extra a mi trabajo diario. Como resultado, desafortunadamente, mi historieta quedó relegada al final de mi lista de prioridades.

¡Pero aquí estamos! He pasado dos días trabajando en los plazos de entrega de mi periódico, elaborando meticulosamente el arte y asegurándome de que cada detalle sea perfecto. No he dormido mucho, pero mi compromiso con los periódicos es sumamente importante para mí. Ahora que estoy al día con todas mis obligaciones para pagar mis facturas, es hora de ponerme al día con el archivo de mi tira cómica, Charmy’s Army. Mientras me siento a revisar las ediciones anteriores, recuerdo el viaje de creación de cada cómic, los personajes que han evolucionado y la alegría de hacer reír a mis lectores. Es un trabajo de amor y no lo haría de otra manera. Esta próxima historia es una de las series de historietas más divertidas que he escrito en los muchos años que llevo creando estas tontas historias.
