Here is my version of Harley Quinn. I wanted to create a completely different version based upon elements readers are used to.

I am working on establishing my own style for drawing superheroes. I want to begin my studies with heroes and villains without masks. How else can you come up with a style? Drawing masks is easy. Drawing personalities is difficult… until you get your style reeled in.

I want to come up with a style than resembles the DC Animated Universe’s look, but with a sharper edge… but not too sharp. I want the human form to look realistic, but loose. I want the style to look sexy but not dirty. I want my style to look dark yet fun. I want my style to motivate young artists to become dreamers like me. I want to create a look and feel so cool that DC Comics will ask me to draw up a book or two… or maybe just have me create a variant.

So, why did I draw Harley Quinn like this? I wanted to establish an original look as a statement. In my opinion, The Joker would never have a relationship that would last very long. In my opinion. The joker would have multiple Harley Quinn sidekicks over the years. Every time The Joker resurfaces in my world, he would have a different Harley Quinn at his side. There would never be an explanation, only speculations.

My comic con appearances are wrapping up for the year. I will be using the extra time for developing my style and creating a few new books. I am planning on giving syndication one last shot with the syndicates this summer. I just wish King Feature would answer my call. Go Comics always responds with an email which is personally written. I cannot begin to tell you how much those email mean to me even though they are declining my work.
